Mini-review - The Other Lands

I just finished The Other Lands, Book 2 of the Acacia Trilogy by David Anthony Durham. I LOVED this book, and love this series. Book 3 can't come soon enough!

In Book 2, we meet the peoples on the other side of the world of the series, and learn what they do with the quota and why. We also see what has become of the surviving Akaran children, and how they have grown into adults. I won't spoil anything for anyone, because it's a lot more fun to experience the story on your own.

I highly recommend both this novel, and the 1st book in the series, Acacia, to anyone who likes Fantasy. Check these out.

Ten +++ out of ten.

Hey, you're kind. Thanks so much! And I'm glad to say that third book is in the works! Here's hoping you like that one, too.

Happy New Year.

(By the way, I think I just left several versions of the same response on the Acacia comment thread. Sorry about that.)

And thank you! I know that sexual orientation is something I've only touched on lightly in my work, but it is important to me. It's part of my world view and will always be a part of the imagined worlds I create. I'll hope, in future works, to engage with this aspect of our human diversity even more.
