Life is hard. People are difficult. Everyone has an opinion.
I have come around to the belief that, no matter how revolting I find someone, it's my responsibility to treat them like a fellow member of the human race. I stopped trying to make everyone like me a long time ago, but I'm not talking about being liked here. I'm talking about using my time on this rock as a member of a community.
Don't get me wrong, there are some people who turn my stomach. I don't need to bring those guys home -- they would probably take a dump on my couch if I did. But I don't need to flay them for entertainment, either. Everyone has shit to deal with.
New rule: don't be a dick, or go away.
