For someone who isn't that into comics, I sure read a lot of them. Right now, for example, I'm reading the collected Frank Miller's Batman: The Dark Knight Returns and enjoying it. I also have Omnibus #3 of Joss Whedon's Amazing X-Men on deck to read. As silly as this sounds, I'm having a lot of fun learning how to read comic books. I have a user account complete with all of my preferences (bag & board, please) at TFAW, so I guess I'm becoming the comic book geek that I said earlier here that I wasn't.
I think that the absolute best thing I've read so far in the genre is issue #1 of Joss Whedon's new series Angel - After the Fall. Following on the Buffy: Season 8 series, the new Angel series picks up where the TV show left off at the end of Season 5. Reading the first issue, I felt just as excited as I ever was watching the TV show. There are loads of surprises, and I'm not going to spoil them here.
Issue #1 gets 5 out of 5 _______ (still need a unit of measurment here -- any suggestions?).
